HYPO-ALLERGENIC FACTOR:
Many cat allergy sufferers can tolerate and enjoy the company of a Siberian in their home. Approximately 80% of these people show no noticeable signs of allergic reactions to this breed of cat because unlike the other cat breeds, the Siberian does not have FelD1 found in the saliva of all other breeds of cats. Two of my grown children are allergic to cats and yet, they each have a Siberian in their homes. My youngest daughter does not have an allergy problem with cats and has both a regular cat and now a new Siberian. She is thrilled with her new addition and has told me that her Siberian is so affectionate and playful but not destructive in anyway. While her other cat tends to be aloof, her Siberian nestles in her arms and gives her great company. She and my other daughters swear that for the rest of their lives, a Siberian will always be a big part of them.
