The Siberian cat is truly a "symphony," of the very best qualities in cats (with the loyal and affectionate attributes of a dog). Like a beautiful concerto, this breed of cat plays on my heartstrings like nothing else can while bringing an aire of contentment and peace to it's surroundings. Let me introduce you to the Siberian and perhaps you too, will decide to have one of these graceful, loving animals in your life.
HISTORY: Initially it is believed that some immigrants came to Russia and brought with them a very hearty, long haired breed of cat that was able to withstand the cold and harsh climate of Siberia. From there, the strongest and finest of this type found its way into the hearts of the Russian people in the cities of Moscow, St. Petersburg and eventually throughout Europe. A book written by Harrison Weirs titled, OUR CATS AND ALL ABOUT THEM, states that the Siberian was in attendance as one of three longhaired types of cats in the first cat show held in England in the 1700's. The Siberian is a close relative to the Norwegian Forest Cat as well as the Maine Coon.
Our cattery is located just minutes from Boulder, Colorado at the base of the Rocky Mountain range.
We chose the name "Symphony Siberians," because the first cat that we brought home is named Symphony. We initially just wanted a retired breeder for our pet. However, it wasn't long before our love for this breed grew. Now we have a number of Siberians (raised here from kittenhood), that have become members of our family.
